Sexual Abuse Prevention Project (SAPP)
The goal of SAPP is to help children recognize and report child abuse (sexual abuse, physical abuse, domestic violence) to a trusted adult. SAPP teaches Wood County preschoolers, third and eighth graders personal safety and problem-solving skills. The program was designed in 1983 by a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency committee of professionals from several community agencies who were concerned about the problem of sexual abuse in Wood County. Domestic Violence Advocacy Program
Advocates provide information on domestic violence and legal options available to victims in Wood County. Advocates accompany victims to Perrysburg Municipal Court and link them to other helpful community resources. Advocates provide information about domestic violence to area professionals, community groups, and to students at local schools.

Wood County Sexual Abuse Prevention Project Committee (SAPP)
Founded in 1982, the committee designed and implemented the Sexual Abuse Prevention Project in the schools. The committee is chaired by Family and Child Abuse Prevention Center and meets when needed to work on programs and workshops. The SAPP Committee is made up of representatives of agencies who work in the field of child protection, mental health, prevention services, and education. These agencies include: Children’s Resource Center, Wood County Department of Job and Family Services/Children’s Services Unit, Johnson Associates, school guidance counselors, and Family and Child Abuse Prevention Center.
